About somethingweird.today
A search-free way to find genuinely hidden, weird, offbeat date ideas in your city — the local secrets even locals miss. You didn't hear it from us.
How it's made
Most "things to do" lists are the same ten landmarks everyone already knows. We go the other way. An agentic research system digs up the strangest, most off-the-radar spots in each city, verifies each one against real sources, scores it for weirdness, and writes it up — so what you get is curated and sourced, not a pile of crowd-sourced star ratings. Deep cuts surface first; reliable local favorites back them up.
How to use it
Pick your city, swipe the deck (ranked weirdest-first), make a plan, and invite your people by text or email. No accounts, no sign-up. We only remember the spots you lean into — so you never get the same suggestion twice.
A note on honesty
Card images are AI "impressions" of each place's vibe — never passed off as real photos, with a link to real photos on Google Maps on every listing. Every spot is real and sourced, but details change and some are seasonal: always check before you go.
Where we are
We're deliberately small. These aren't markets a machine picked off a map — they're cities we actually know, chosen so the weirdness is real, vetted, and worth your time rather than padded out to look comprehensive. We've gone deepest across Colorado — Denver, Colorado Springs, Boulder, Fort Collins, Pueblo, Grand Junction, and Durango — plus Dallas, Oklahoma City, Wichita, Des Moines, and Anchorage, with Austin, Los Angeles, and New York City on the way. We'd rather go deep on a place we understand than spread thin across a hundred we don't. This isn't a global index — and we're in no hurry to become one.
