Bivy

A relational contemporary art gallery you reach by a narrow staircase and a white hallway over the Alaska Ivory Exchange shop. There are no labels, no neat rows, and no prices on the walls; it folds in performances, an artists'-book shop, and participatory work. Founded 2017, demolished with the old 4th Avenue Theatre block, and quietly reopened in fall 2025 a block away.

The move: Time your visit for First Friday (5-9pm) or a Saturday afternoon (1-4pm), wander the unlabeled rooms guessing at materials and meaning, then dig through the artists' zines and book ephemera together before drinks downtown.

Where: 419 G Street, Suite 100, Anchorage, AK 99501 (upstairs, above Alaska Ivory Exchange)

Hours: First Friday of the month 5-9pm, Saturdays 1-4pm, and by appointment; reopened fall 2025 at the G Street location.
