Pocketeer Billiards & Bar — Pinball Alley
From the street it reads as a pool hall and sports bar at the corner of Clinton and Harlem; inside, a room called Pinball Alley holds Western New York's largest pinball collection — the house claims over 100 machines, and the lineup runs from Twilight Zone, Medieval Madness, and Attack From Mars through recent Stern releases like Godzilla, Rush, and James Bond 007. The attached Pocketeer Pinball Club organizes leagues and events out of the same room, and there are pool tables, dartboards, and a full bar for whenever your flipper fingers give out. The story
From Clinton Street at the Harlem Road corner, Pocketeer reads as exactly what its sign says: a billiards and sports bar, out in the 14224 zip where Buffalo gives way to West Seneca. Inside are more than twenty pool tables, dartboards, a video arcade, ten taps and a fryer. Then there's the room the whole place is actually known for. Pinball Alley currently holds over a hundred machines, which the house bills as Western New York's largest pinball collection, and the count is not padded with dead cabinets — the roster is published and maintained.
Reading that roster is half the fun. The early-nineties Bally/Williams canon is nearly complete: FunHouse, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Diner, Dr. Dude, Junk Yard, No Good Gofers, Cirqus Voltaire, Scared Stiff, Elvira and the Party Monsters, Black Knight 2000, and the vertiginous Banzai Run. The famous ones people chase — Medieval Madness, Attack From Mars, Cactus Canyon, Monster Bash — are here as the modern remakes. Against those sit current Sterns in Premium and LE trim: Godzilla, Rush, James Bond 007, Jaws, Metallica, Deadpool, Jurassic Park. And then the genuinely odd corners: Barry O's BBQ Challenge, Pabst Can Crusher, Merlin's Arcade, Elton John Platinum.
The community around it is organized. The Pocketeer Pinball Club runs leagues out of the same room, posting weekly matchups and scores through a full season, and the bar keeps a specials board built for people who plan their week around it — free-play pinball on Tuesdays, half-price pool all day Wednesday, happy hour Tuesday through Friday 3–7pm and Saturday noon to 5pm that also halves the pool rate. Closed Sunday and Monday, which is when the private buyouts happen.
What it's like
Doors are 3pm Tuesday through Friday and 11am Saturday, and you walk in past the pool tables before you find the Alley. It's loud in the good way — a hundred machines don't attract quiet people — and it stays a bar first, so expect a fryer smell and a game on somewhere. Pool runs $10 an hour for one person, $20 for two or more, with coin-op bar tables at $1.50 a rack; the free-play machines on Tuesday go open to close. Kids are welcome earlier in the day, but under-16s need an adult and have to be gone by 9pm, and after 9pm on Friday and Saturday it's 21-plus with valid ID. Standard flipper etiquette applies: no banging, no leaning, let people finish.
The move: Go on a Tuesday, when the pinball is literally free: work your way down the Alley trading machines — one classic, one modern, alternating picks — keep a running score across ten tables, and the loser buys the beers at the bar.

How do I get there?
Drive. It's 2444 Clinton Street at the corner of Harlem Road, about fifteen minutes from downtown out toward the Cheektowaga and West Seneca line, with a lot on site. The mailing zip is 14224, so map searches sometimes want to send you to West Seneca — same place.
Is pinball really free on Tuesday?
The specials board lists Free Play Tuesday as six machines set to free play, open to close, and the pinball page advertises free pinball every Tuesday — either way Tuesday is the cheap night. The rest of the collection is pay-per-play. Wednesday is the pool night: half off all day, on top of the standard $10/hour single-player and $20/hour two-or-more rates.
Can we bring kids?
Before 9pm, yes. Children under 16 must be with an adult and cannot stay past 9pm, and on Friday and Saturday the whole room goes 21-plus with valid ID at 9pm. They also book under-21 and kids' birthday parties, so daytime is the family window.
Is there food?
Bar food, orderable online. The daily rotation is a $12 classic hamburger Tuesday, a $6 burrito with chips Wednesday, a $5 one-topping personal pizza Thursday, a $20 fish fry Friday from 3 to 9pm with mac and cheese and fries, and Saturday's two-for-$7 Sahlen's hot dogs.
Can I book it for a group?
Yes — party booking is a separate line, 716-805-7118. Packages start at $30–40 per person for three to four hours Monday through Thursday and climb through Top Shelf and Premium tiers, with $5 more per head on Friday and Saturday. Minimum fifteen guests, $150 deposit, and 20 percent gratuity plus tax added automatically. Private events of fifty or more can take Sunday or Monday, when the bar is otherwise closed.
