Behind an unmarked door on East Spring Street, a few steps off Williamsville's Main Street, is a low-lit cocktail room that keeps its menu deliberately short: craft cocktails, freshly shucked oysters, a crisp flatbread, a couple of savory dips, and desserts built to sit next to a drink. The room runs on an old-school, hospitality-first philosophy — the bartender is the menu as much as the paper is. It only holds a handful of seats, so weekend nights run on a waitlist rather than reservations. Open Tuesday through Saturday evenings; once the door closes behind you, the village outside is gone.

The story
Williamsville is a 1.27-square-mile village incorporated in 1850 around Jonas Williams's mill, and it wears the history on its street signs. Room 4one6 is at 18 East Spring Street, a few steps off Main — Route 5, which follows the old Buffalo Road that Joseph Ellicott cut along the Iroquois trail. Up the same street stands the Williamsville Water Mill complex, a sawmill of 1801 substantially enlarged in 1827, on the National Register since 1983 and currently selling ice cream, beside Glen Park where Ellicott Creek drops twenty-seven feet over the Onondaga Escarpment. Against all that, the bar announces itself with nothing: a concealed door, no sign, no lettering.
Inside it is dark, small and deliberately sealed off — the pitch is that once the door shuts, the village stops existing. The menu is kept short on purpose: craft cocktails and wine, oysters shucked to order, a crisp flatbread, a couple of savory dips, and a couple of desserts built to sit next to a drink rather than end a meal. The philosophy is old-school and hospitality-first, which in practice means the bartender is as much the menu as the paper is; a recent house drink went out as the Garrison Peach.
The way it runs is the tell. There are no reservations — the Instagram bio says so in plain text — no phone line, and room4one6.com is still a placeholder reading Launching Soon, so Instagram is the only channel for hours, closures and what is pouring. A July 2026 post shut the bar for Independence Day so staff could be with their families, and that is how you would have found out. Hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 6–11pm, Thursday through Saturday 6pm–midnight, closed Sunday and Monday. With that few seats, a Saturday at nine and a Tuesday at six are two different bars.
What it's like
You will be looking for a door rather than a sign, on East Spring just south of Main; village street parking is easy on weeknights and less so on weekends. Inside there is no host-stand theater — either there is a seat or you go on the waitlist, and on Friday and Saturday it is usually the waitlist, which means killing twenty minutes on Main Street a block away. Bar seats are the good seats. The menu takes a minute to read, so the move is to describe what you actually like and hand the problem to the bartender. Oysters come shucked to order. It is a low, conversational room, not a place to hold court. And check Instagram before you drive out, because unscheduled closures are posted there and nowhere else.
The move: Go on a Tuesday or Wednesday right at 6pm when the door opens — no waitlist fight — take two bar seats, start with a round of oysters, and tell the bartender what you each drank on your first date and let them work from there.

18 E Spring St, Williamsville, just off Main Street on the south side. The door is concealed and unmarked — there is no exterior signage to look for, so navigate to the street number rather than a storefront. Village street parking is straightforward on weeknights.
Can I book a table?
No. The Instagram bio states they are not currently taking reservations. It is first come, first served, and you should expect to be put on a waitlist on weekend nights. Arriving at 6pm when the door opens is the reliable workaround.

Is it a dinner spot?
Not really. The kitchen output is oysters, a flatbread, a couple of dips and a couple of desserts, all designed around the drink rather than instead of it. Eat on Main Street first and come here for the second half of the night.
