Entry No. 70 — the Chicago file — filed under: speakeasy-bar
Punch House
A wood-paneled, 1970s-rec-room bar buried in the basement of Thalia Hall — an 1892 public hall — built around a tropical fish tank, where punch cocktails arrive by the glass, carafe, or full communal bowl.
The move: Grab a show upstairs at Thalia Hall, then head down to share a whole bowl of punch between you while a DJ works through disco, funk, and Latin soul until close.
