Entry No. 78 — the Chicago file — filed under: speakeasy

Sportsman's Club

A narrow, dimly lit tavern that reopened in 2013 on the exact site of the original Sportsman's Club, a Polish-immigrant neighborhood haven — it kept the name and the original art deco bar, and its unofficial house drink is the 'spaghett' (Miller High Life plus Aperol).

The move: Split a couple of spaghetts on the tiny back patio during a Sunday barbecue pop-up, then move inside to the mini-booths for a cocktail off the daily-changing menu at the original art deco bar.

Where: 948 N Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60622
