Entry No. 32 — the Cincinnati file — filed under: immersive light
American Sign Museum
Spanning 28,000 square feet inside a former industrial factory, this glowing neon sanctuary immerses visitors in a full-scale simulated 'Main Street' lined with historic commercial signs. Exhibits range from 19th-century hand-carved gold-leaf wooden trade signs to a massive 1963 fiberglass sputnik-style revolving satellite sign.
The move: Walk through the buzzing neon corridors during an evening visit, pausing at the glass window of the on-site neon shop to watch tube benders repair vintage signs.
