Ukrainian Museum-Archives

Founded in 1952 by displaced scholars, this museum houses an astonishingly rich archive of over 45,000 books, thousands of historical photos, and unique artifacts like a massive collection of vintage Ukrainian typewriters and traditional pysanky (Easter eggs).

The move: Stroll through the newly renovated turn-of-the-century building to admire the intricate folk costumes and rare Alexander Archipenko sculptures, then pick up a hand-painted Easter egg at the gift shop.
