Haunted Manitou Ghost Tour
A 75-minute lantern-lit walking tour through downtown Manitou's dim alleys and back corners, unspooling a mile's worth of murders, hauntings, and forgotten gold-town history — running its 30th year.
The move: Take the evening ghost walk through Manitou's darkened streets, then duck into a bar afterward to argue about which of the stories you actually believe.
📍 Before you go The tour gathers at Memorial Park (502 Manitou Ave), on the El Paso Street side near the cannon, the playground, and the old #2 train engine across the creek — look there, not at a storefront. It's an after-dark outdoor walk, so dress for cool mountain evenings and wear real shoes; one stretch climbs a short, moderately steep sidewalk, though guides offer an easier alternate route. Kids are welcome but must be with an adult. It runs evenings from late spring through fall, with more dates around Halloween — check ahead, and book early since nights sell out. Downtown parking is tight on summer evenings, so arrive with time to spare and sip from the free public mineral-springs fountains before you start.
