Impossible Winterbourne Steampunk Street Sculptures
Since 2010 an anonymous artist calling himself The Impossible Winterbourne has been bolting tiny rusted steampunk robots — SteamBots, SkullBots, MechMonkeys — onto storm drains, tree trunks, and brick walls around Capitol Hill, Uptown, and the Santa Fe Arts District. He won't publish a single location; spotting one is meant to feel like a reward for actually looking up from your phone. His very first street piece in Denver was a little specter hidden in Cheesman Park. There's no map, and pieces come and go, which is exactly the point.
The move: Pick a few blocks of Capitol Hill or the Santa Fe Arts District (great on a First Friday art walk), make it a slow scavenger hunt, and whoever spots the first SteamBot wins — loser buys the next round.

- 🌗 Outdoors
Where: No fixed address — scattered, unmarked installations across Capitol Hill, Uptown, the Santa Fe Arts District, and around Cheesman Park; locations deliberately never published
Hours: Outdoor, anytime, but best in daylight for spotting small wall/drain pieces. No guarantee any specific piece is still in place — unsanctioned installs are removed or weather away, so treat it as a hunt, not a fixed stop.
⚠ Seasonal or scheduled — always check before you go.
