Fadeaway Floatation Center
Iowa's first sensory-deprivation float center, opened in 2015, with three private Samadhi tank rooms each with its own shower. You float weightless in body-temperature Epsom-salt water in total darkness and silence, no light, no sound, no sense of where your body ends.
The move: Book two adjacent tank rooms for a 60- or 90-minute float, go fully dark and silent separately, then reunite to talk through the strange head-space each of you drifted into.
