Dabls MBAD African Bead Museum
Spanning almost an entire city block, this vibrant outdoor art environment features 18 massive installations crafted from iron, rock, wood, and mirrors. Created by artist Olayami Dabls, the site uses material culture to tell powerful stories of African heritage and the human condition.
The move: Wander through the outdoor sculpture garden to see the centerpiece 'Iron Teaching Rocks How to Rust', then step inside the bead gallery to browse thousands of historic African trade beads.
