Ghost Crawl: Haunted Durango Train Museum Experience

Museum curator and resident paranormal observer Jeff Ellingson walks small groups across the working railyard after dark, threading past the roundhouse, turntable, warehouse, box cars and car shop before ending inside the museum. There are deliberately no fog machines, strobes or sound effects, just true railroad history and the spots where figures like 'Kate' (who reportedly pats guests on the head) and the legless 'Legs' are said to appear. The roughly hour-long crawl is timed to full-moon nights and Halloween and is geared toward mature audiences.

The move: Take the full-moon night walk through the dark railyard and roundhouse while the curator tells you exactly which box car or turntable each ghost supposedly haunts.

📍 Before you go Only runs a handful of nights (full moons in fall plus Halloween); 18+ recommended, closed-toe shoes required, and you'll walk about a mile over gravel and uneven ground. Confirm current dates with the railroad before planning.
