Reeder's Alley Summer Series & Night Market
Reeder's Alley is a tight cobbled lane of 1870s stone-and-brick miner's tenements clinging to the hillside at the base of Mount Helena, the oldest intact section of early Helena. In summer the alley hosts a grassroots Summer Series on Tuesday evenings (5-8pm, July-September): live local music, a beer-and-wine garden, lawn games, and a night market of local makers, cottage bakers, and backyard farmers; a holiday market takes over in winter. Even in early-evening light, wandering the stone passages with a drink is a strange, atmospheric step back into gold-rush Helena. Note: the 2026 Summer Series is on hold and may be cancelled while the state reworks its live-music permitting for the alley, so confirm before you go — but the historic alley and its shops stay open regardless.
The move: Stroll the lantern-lit stone alley after dark during a summer night market, grabbing baked goods from local makers among the 1870s miner's cabins.
📍 Before you go Summer Series live-music dates were paused pending city permitting decisions; check reedersalleybuzz.com for the current 2026 calendar.
