Entry No. 54 — the Louisville file — filed under: underground
Louisville Mega Cavern
A 100-acre former limestone mine burrowing under the Louisville Zoo and I-264 — now the only fully-underground zip-line course and aerial ropes challenge in the world, plus a tram-tour of its cavernous rooms and a drive-through holiday light show 100 feet below the surface.
The move: Book the underground zip-line-and-ropes package and fly between rock pillars 100 feet down, or take the tram tour of the man-made caverns — in winter, do the Lights Under Louisville drive-through instead.
📍 Before you go Everything is underground (a constant ~58°F — bring a layer). Zip-line and ropes need advance booking and have age/weight limits.
