Entry No. 25 — the Milwaukee file — filed under: giant sculptures
Lynden Sculpture Garden
Set across 40 acres of manicured lawns, ponds, and thick woodland, this former private estate holds over 50 monumental modernist and contemporary sculptures. Rusted steel beams, kinetic wind structures, and geometric stone forms rise unexpectedly out of the trees and reflecting pools.
The move: Pick up a paper map at the entrance house and wander the path around the lily-pad lake to find Mark di Suvero's massive steel I-beam installations hidden among the trees.
