Eisenhower Observatory

Tucked atop a community center, this hidden observatory features the Lawrence Sauter telescope inside a fully operational dome. Volunteers guide visitors through views of planets, stars, and deep-space wonders during scheduled public viewing nights.

The move: Register for a $5 public viewing session, climb the steep staircase to Room 349, and take turns peering through the eyepiece at Saturn's rings or the Moon's craters.
