Flaming Lips Alley
A genuinely dingy back alley behind the ballpark, named in 2007 for OKC's own psychedelic rock band over considerable city-council grumbling. Famously one of the least picturesque streets in town and very easy to walk right past.
The move: Skip the canal crowds and hunt down the unglamorous street sign on foot. Snap the requisite photo, queue up 'Do You Realize??' on your phone, and savor how anticlimactic and perfect it is.
📍 Before you go The alley sits behind Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, running east-west between Oklahoma and Joe Carter avenues; the actual street sign is easiest to spot at the corner of Mickey Mantle Drive (S. Walnut Avenue), right by the entrance to the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame. Park in any of the surface lots or garages ringing the ballpark and approach on foot. Daytime is brighter and feels safer for the hunt, and avoiding game-day crowds makes the sign easier to find. Since you are already a block from the Bricktown Canal, fold in a water-taxi ride or a riverfront dinner afterward.
