Devil's Tramping Ground

Located about 50 miles west of Raleigh, this legendary 40-foot barren circle in the pine woods has baffled visitors for centuries because no vegetation grows inside it, and objects left overnight are mysteriously moved.

The move: Make a daytime road trip out to Chatham County to walk the short path into the woods, stand inside the eerie, barren circle, and test the legend by leaving a small stick to see if it gets 'tramped' away.
