On the high-desert scrub southwest of Santa Fe (not to be confused with its more famous sister property up the road in Ojo Caliente), the soaking pools take walk-ins with zero reservation — "no reservations are required, or accepted for Day Soaking… first come, first serve" — for $45 Monday–Thursday, open 10am to 10pm daily, which means the last two hours of any visit happen under the open Santa Fe sky as it goes dark.

The move: Skip planning ahead entirely: drive out after dinner on a Monday–Thursday, pay the $45 day-soak walk-in rate, and hold a pool seat until the 10pm close while the sky over the mesa runs from dusk to a full star field.
