Idaho Wildlife Museum
A private foundation's collection houses one of the largest assemblies of bronze wildlife sculpture in the world (over 200 pieces), the Idaho Gem Collection (including the world's largest six-ray Idaho star garnet), and what is billed as the world's only complete set of original-size reproductions of all 22 of Frederic Remington's bronzes, including a 12-foot Cowboy. It is not a casual drop-in; you see it by appointment, which gives it the feel of touring an eccentric collector's vault. The single-minded focus on wildlife bronze and gems makes it a genuine niche stop.
The move: Reserve a Friday-afternoon slot and tour the wall-to-wall wildlife bronzes and the complete Remington reproductions with a guide, just the two of you and the collection.
📍 Before you go Private collection viewed by appointment only, typically limited Friday-afternoon group tours booked in advance through IdahoWM.org; suggested donation around $10 per person.
