House of Tank Museum

A Wichita neurosurgeon's personal obsession took over a former printing warehouse on the north side of town, and the result is roughly 25 battle tanks — WWI M1917 through a modern Leopard 1A5 — crammed wheel-to-track under one industrial roof. There's a hand-lettered "No Climbing On Tanks" sign out front, a $5 donation box inside, and precisely zero gift shop. The signage is sparse, the hours are erratic (Thu–Fri 9–5, Sat 10–2), and the whole thing reads like a fever dream a very successful doctor quietly built and forgot to tell anyone about. It's listed nowhere on the Visit Wichita homepage, ranks deep in the triple digits on Tripadvisor with no reviews, and the only reason you know it exists is because someone posted about it on Roadside America.

The move: Show up on a Saturday morning before noon — it's the easiest window to catch it open — then spend an hour identifying tank models off the sparse placards and debating which one you'd actually want to drive home.
