Hutchinson Fox Theatre
The Hutchinson Fox Theatre is a genuine 1931 Boller Brothers art deco movie palace — one of the finest between Kansas City and Denver — still operating as a performing arts center with live shows, film series, and comedy nights. Its reputation for paranormal activity is well-documented on haunted-place registries, with reports of seats lifting and lowering on their own and doors slamming in empty spaces backstage.
The move: Catch one of the Fox's classic film screenings or a touring live show in the ornate 1,200-seat auditorium, then linger after for a self-guided look at the backstage corridors and balcony — the staff are known to share the ghost stories, and the building's hidden nooks make for a genuinely creepy after-dark wander.
