Their signature 'Clay in a Day' is a two-hour session where you actually get muddy at the wheel or hand-building, billed as good for first-timers and seasoned potters alike. They also run shorter paint-your-own pottery sessions for glazing pre-made pieces, and the front gallery showcases work from 30-plus local Alaskan ceramic artists.

The move: Book a two-hour 'Clay in a Day' session and try to center clay on the wheel together, laughing through the lopsided first attempts before your pieces go off to be fired.
