Entry No. 28 — the Atlanta file — filed under: single-subject
Road to Tara Museum
An entire museum devoted to one 1939 movie: original costume pieces, Margaret Mitchell's personal items, a rotating poster gallery, and an international collection of "Gone with the Wind" editions in dozens of languages, housed in a restored train depot in downtown Jonesboro — the real Clayton County landscape the story was set in.
The move: Walk the depot exhibits together on a weekday morning (open Mon–Sat, 10am–4pm), take the included Hattie McDaniel Legacy Experience, then find lunch in historic downtown Jonesboro afterward.
