Blue Starlite Mini Urban Drive-In (Downtown)

Founded by an Austinite who didn't want to drive three hours to the nearest drive-in, so he built a pocket-sized one in the middle of downtown instead: a handful of parking spots, a screen, and sound piped to your car's FM radio so you watch a movie through your own windshield under the actual Texas sky instead of a multiplex ceiling.

The move: Grab tickets for whichever weekly public showtime is running downtown, back the car in early, and watch from the trunk with tailgate snacks — check the site first since public nights are limited these days.
