Historic Ruins of Old Barton Creek Bridge

Located just upstream from Barton Springs Pool, these ruins consist of the historic limestone abutment of a bridge built over Barton Creek in 1889. While the original iron-and-wood bridge was destroyed by floods and replaced in 1926, the masonry of the eastern abutment remains standing. Today, it serves as a quiet, vine-covered historical relic nestled along the creek's edge.

The move: Take a scenic stroll along the Barton Creek Greenbelt trail from Zilker Park, stopping to photograph the historic stone abutment and enjoy the peaceful creek views.
