Tiki Tatsu-Ya

The Tatsu-Ya ramen family's tiki concept doesn't front onto South Lamar at all — the official entrance and parking sit around back on Lamar Square Drive, in a space Time Out Austin describes as tucked behind what was once a defunct travel agency, then plunges into full tropical, tiki-mug immersion once you're inside.

The move: Skip the S. Lamar storefronts entirely and loop around to the Lamar Square Dr. side; split a scorpion bowl or two under the thatch-and-tiki-mug decor and order off the rum-forward menu.
