Yanke Motor Museum
This is one man's obsession made into a warehouse-sized museum: late Boise entrepreneur Ron Yanke (one of the original investors in Micron) amassed roughly 150 antique cars and trucks, from Packards and Cadillacs to Model Ts, plus motorcycles, tractors, firefighting rigs, farm equipment and a collection of musical instruments. It bills itself as the only museum of its type in Idaho, and almost no one knows it exists because admission is free but strictly by appointment via a phone call. The eclectic, unedited sprawl of Americana is the whole charm.
The move: Call ahead to book a private appointment, then wander the warehouse together picking which vintage Packard you'd drive home.
📍 Before you go Admission is free but BY APPOINTMENT ONLY; call 208-863-0212 to arrange a visit.
