Hood Milk Bottle

A 40-foot-tall, 18-foot-diameter, 15,000-pound wooden milk bottle that began life in 1933 as an ice-cream drive-in in Taunton, MA — one of the earliest fast-food drive-ins in the country — sat abandoned from 1967, and was ultimately barged up the harbor to Fort Point Channel in 1977 on a trip the museum called the 'Great Bottle Sail.' If it actually held milk, it would hold 58,620 gallons.

The move: Grab something from the plaza window and eat it sitting at the base of the bottle on the Harborwalk, then try to guess how many gallons it would take to fill — the real number is posted nearby.
