Crystal Dragon
Crystal Dragon opened on Pearl Street in March 1994, making it one of Boulder's longest-running metaphysical shops. Rising rents pushed it east in 2011 to a quiet strip mall on Arapahoe Ave — far from the tourist throngs — where it has quietly held its ground ever since. The shop stocks hand-picked rough and tumbled stones sourced in small batches from around the world, alongside one of the deeper selections of tarot and oracle decks you'll find in the region. Incense, candles, herbs, sage bundles, jewelry, and a wall of esoteric books round out the inventory. Staff are known for genuine knowledge rather than salesmanship, and the place carries the unhurried feel of a Boulder that predates the luxury condo boom.
The move: Browse the oracle and tarot deck wall together, pick one each on instinct, then find a bench at nearby Scott Carpenter Park and pull a few cards over coffee — a low-pressure ritual that opens up conversation about intuition, symbolism, and what you're both paying attention to right now.
