The story
Cafe Mustache has been running two businesses out of one room at 2313 N Milwaukee Ave since 2010. From 9am it is a Logan Square coffeeshop with wi-fi, locally roasted coffee and a kitchen that shuts at 4pm. At 6pm the same room turns over: 21+, a night menu, craft spirits and cocktails behind the bar, and a stage that the daytime laptop crowd never really has to acknowledge. The espresso machine does not go anywhere. The clientele just changes.
The programming is the reason to care. The venue bills itself as a multidisciplinary arts space, and the calendar reads like it: live bands, drag, comedy, game shows and DJ sets stacked against each other with no obvious genre logic, refreshed weekly on the site and on Instagram @cafe_mustache.
