Lakeside Igloos at Whispers (The Coeur d'Alene Resort)

From late November through February the Resort sets clear-domed, heated igloos out on its waterfront patio at Whispers. Each weatherproof dome seats up to six (21+ only) with its own heater, blankets, and marina views, so you dine on shareable plates and cocktails while boats rock in their slips and downtown lights reflect off the water. Daytime is open seating, but evening slots after 3:30 PM require a reservation (two-hour slots) and book weeks out for weekends.

The move: Reserve an evening igloo for two, order the cocktails-and-dessert spread, and linger under blankets watching the lake darken and the lights shimmer.
