Entry No. 57 — the Denver file — filed under: witchy
Botanica Ochun
Most people would never guess that a fully stocked Santeria botanica is hiding in an Aurora strip mall off 6th Ave, but here it is. Ochun (named for the Yoruba orisha of love and rivers) carries spiritual baths, candles, statuary, and the Afro-Cuban ritual supplies that serve the metro's Latino and Afro-Cuban communities, plus consultations and house/business cleansings. It is the kind of place that doesn't advertise to outsiders and never shows up in the city's witchy-shop roundups.
The move: Stop in to browse the orisha candles and spiritual baths, ask about a love-and-luck working under Ochun specifically, and grab supplies for a little ritual to do together at home.
📍 Before you go It is tucked into a strip-mall plaza off East 6th Ave in Aurora (Suite 130), east of central Denver near the Havana Street international corridor. Look for the suite number rather than a sign, since it deliberately does not market to outsiders. Shared plaza parking is free and easy. Browsing candles, spiritual baths, and ritual supplies is walk-in, but consultations and house or business cleansings are by appointment, so reach out ahead. This is a working religious-supply shop serving practitioners, not a novelty store, so come respectful and ask before photographing. Hours shift, so confirm before the trip, and pair it with a meal along Havana Street nearby.
