Open barely three afternoons a week out of a little row-house storefront on Delaware, Recollect is a crate-digger's secret hiding in plain sight south of Colfax. The curation is tight and serious — jazz, soul, R&B, funk, and a deep stash of 12-inch singles (disco, hip-hop) that pull in DJs and collectors, not tourists. It's clean, fairly priced, and run by people who actually know the bins, with discount crates worth losing an hour in. Show up on the wrong day and the door's locked; that's part of the charm.
The move: Time it to the limited hours, then make it a flip-off: each person digs the bins to find one record for the other to buy, and you spin both back home.
📍 Before you go It's tucked into Unit C of a row-house storefront on Delaware just south of Colfax, in Lincoln Park near the Golden Triangle — look for the right unit on a quiet, residential-feeling block rather than a big sign, and keep things low-key for the neighbors. Street parking is your best bet; afternoons are the natural window, and since the open days seem to shift around, check ahead before making the trip. Pair the dig with the nearby Golden Triangle museums (the Denver Art Museum and Clyfford Still are walkable) or the galleries of the Art District on Santa Fe a few blocks west.
