The Jessie Mine and Mill

Dating back to the late 1880s, the Jessie Mine and Mill was once one of the largest gold, silver, and lead mining complexes in the Breckenridge area. Today, visitors can see the partially intact remains of the 1893 wooden stamp mill—the only one of its kind still standing in Summit County—along with several mine openings on the hillside above. The historic mill structure has been stabilized with a protective roof designed to match its original silhouette.

The move: Hike the scenic Gold Run Loop together to view the historic wooden stamp mill, read the interpretive signs, and spot the old mine openings on the hillside from a safe distance.

📍 Before you go The site is located along the public Gold Run Trail and managed by Breckenridge History, but the wooden mill structure and the steep mine openings on the hillside are structurally unstable and unsafe to enter.
