Entry No. 5 — the Detroit file — filed under: cemetery
Elmwood Cemetery
Established in 1846, Detroit's oldest non-denominational cemetery is a certified arboretum that contains the only exposed portion of Bloody Run Creek, the site of a gruesome 1763 battle.
The move: Take a self-guided walking tour using their Underground Railroad map to pay respects to legendary abolitionists, then stroll along the eerie, historic creek bed.
