Night Sky at the Durango Nature Center
The San Juan Mountains Association hosts an intimate summer night-sky series at the Durango Nature Center, capped at just 15 people. It's led by Luann Andrew, a longtime Mesa Verde night-sky ranger and avid amateur astronomer, who star-hops across the sky with a green laser and brings both a visual telescope and a deep-sky 'smart' telescope for live views. Registration is required and spaces fill fast.
The move: Register early for the 8:30 p.m. evening session and let a veteran ranger walk you constellation-by-constellation, then peer at deep-sky objects through her smart telescope.
📍 Before you go Limited to 15 attendees; registration required via SJMA. Free with a suggested $10 donation. Seasonal summer dates only.
