The Subterrain

Southwest Colorado's only immersive installation-art bar lives in a basement that three local artists hand-painted floor to ceiling, including walls, restrooms and ceilings done in black-light paint that ignites under UV. There is a geode room and a 'forever well' where you can drop a wish, plus rotating live music, burlesque, comedy and theme nights. Drinks lean local and odd: Colorado wine, Esoterra cider, sake, spirits and mocktails rather than a standard bar list.

The move: Descend into the muraled basement after dark, drop a wish into the forever well, and watch the black-light paint glow over cider while a burlesque or comedy set runs.
