Entry No. 49 — the Grand Junction file — filed under: speakeasy
Moody's Lounge
The only sign you're in the right place is a neon dal segno — that looping musical notation symbol — glowing outside a building most people walk past on Main Street without a second look. Inside, the 1920s bones of the old Kress building give way to black cocktail tables, an orange sofa, and a bar that leans hard into Old Fashioneds and Manhattans. Co-founder Logan Moody named the symbol intentionally: in sheet music it means "go back and play the section again," which is exactly what he wants you to do. Live jazz and local performers keep the room from feeling like a theme park version of Prohibition.
The move: Duck off Main Street through the unmarked entrance, order a round of proper Prohibition-era cocktails, and catch whoever's on the small stage that night.
📍 Before you go Venue is inside the building — no street-level bar entrance. Look for the neon dal segno symbol. Restrooms require a walk through interior corridors.
