The Printing Museum

Four working printers founded this in 1979 to save their own presses; visitors can hand-pull a page from a Gutenberg Bible replica or run the Declaration of Independence off a 19th-century Columbian iron handpress. The permanent collection tracks printing from clay tablets through moveable type to Linotype, with letterpress, bookbinding, and lithography studios still in active use.

The move: Book a guided visit, take turns operating the Columbian handpress to pull your own print of the Declaration, then compare your uneven ink coverage over coffee.
