Avon Haunted Bridge (Screaming Bridge)
Constructed in 1906 for the Big Four Railroad, this 70-foot-high triple-arch concrete railway bridge is central to local legends about a worker trapped in wet concrete and a mother who dropped her child off the trestle. Local driving custom calls for honking your horn while passing under the concrete arches at night to drown out phantom wails.
The move: Park at neighboring Washington Township Park during the day and walk the trail along White Lick Creek to stand directly under the massive 1906 concrete arches.
