Downtown Container Park — the fire-breathing Mantis

At the Fremont Street entrance stands a 40-foot steel praying mantis originally built for Burning Man that breathes real fire from its antennae — an operator hidden inside works its seven built-in speakers — and a few steps away sits a heart-shaped 'Love Locket' sculpture, left over from the first Life Is Beautiful festival, where couples can clip on a padlock and leave it.

The move: Catch sunset, when the community drum circle 'wakes up' the Mantis and it breathes fire, then walk over and lock a padlock onto the Love Locket together before wandering the shipping-container shops.
