The Witches' Tree

Standing at the corner of Central Park, this gnarled, twisted tree grew from a lightning-blasted stump following an 1889 local storm legend involving a disrupted witches' coven. Over time, it has evolved into a permanent urban shrine adorned with Mardi Gras beads, tarot cards, bone charms, and handwritten offerings.

The move: Take an evening walk through the Victorian streets of Old Louisville to inspect the colorful trinkets and tarot cards tucked into the craggy, twisted branches of the tree.
