Nashville's longest-running artist-run project space, tucked inside a converted industrial building called The Packing Plant, deliberately shows work too challenging or unrepresented for the commercial galleries nearby — needle-felted heads staring each other down in the center of the room, sound-and-video archives of a two-year music-making experiment, whatever the current curatorial collective decides is worth a fight. It's non-commercial by design and mostly opens on its own schedule.

The move: Show up on the first Saturday of the month between 1 and 9pm for the Wedgewood-Houston Art Crawl, when COOP and the other studios inside The Packing Plant all open their doors at once — wander the building rather than just the one room.
