Entry No. 56 — the New York City file — filed under: arcade-play
Wonderville
An indie-arcade bar that ditches the usual Pac-Man cabinets for roughly thirty homemade games built by local and international developers, many of them physical contraptions you will not find anywhere else. Standouts include Killer Queen, a ten-player competitive strategy machine, and oddball physics games like Particle Mace. All games are coinless and free to play (a $5 donation is suggested), and the space doubles as a venue for chiptune shows and game-dev workshops.
The move: Grab drinks and rope strangers into a chaotic ten-player round of Killer Queen, then wander the room trying every weird handmade cabinet.
📍 Before you go 21+ venue; opens 5pm weekdays, 2pm weekends. Games free with suggested donation.
