The only museum in North America dedicated entirely to pigeons — and yes, that is a real sentence. Housed in a purpose-built facility on ten acres in northeast OKC, it holds the continent's largest collection of racing and fancy pigeon memorabilia, plus deeply serious exhibits on the WWI and WWII army pigeon corps (think: transport carriers, message capsules, and the stories of decorated birds like Cher Ami). Across the street, the "World of Wings" aviary keeps a live flock of 200–250 birds in dozens of breeds, some of which you can actually hold. It's open only Thursday through Saturday with free admission — the kind of place you drive past a hundred times without knowing it exists, which is exactly the point.
The move: Show up on a Saturday morning when the aviary is open, let someone hand you a fancy pigeon, then spend an hour getting genuinely invested in the career of a WWII war hero named Cher Ami — it's a low-key weird afternoon that costs nothing and earns you serious "you have to trust me on this one" credibility.

The museum and the World of Wings aviary are two separate buildings facing each other across the street, with their own small lots, so don't park at one and assume you've arrived; you'll want both. The handling-a-live-bird experience happens on the aviary side and depends on staff and the birds, so go earlier in the open window rather than at the tail end. Because it operates only a few days a week, treat a visit as a deliberate trip, not a drop-in.
