Entry No. 21 — the Phoenix file — filed under: glow
Las Noches de las Luminarias
Desert Botanical Garden glows for a few weeks each winter: thousands of hand-lit paper luminarias line the cactus paths, with live entertainment, festive treats and sparkling lights. You can pay extra for a personalized tribute luminaria bag dedicating a light to someone.
The move: Book a timed evening entry, walk the illuminated desert trails slowly with cider or cocoa from the seasonal bars, catch a live music set on the grounds, and see the saguaros lit from below in a way daytime visits never show you.
