Queen Valley Overlook Ruins

Perched on a flat bench of Quebec Rock overlooking Queen Creek, these ancient stone ruins are believed to have served as a prehistoric hilltop fort or observation post. Constructed by early Native American inhabitants over 700 years ago, the site features low, remarkably intact stone walls about four feet high. The ruins consist of a circular main enclosure with several smaller subrooms, offering panoramic views of the surrounding desert and the Superstition Mountains.

The move: Hike the rugged Queen Valley Ruins Trail to the summit of Quebec Rock to photograph the ancient stone battlements and enjoy a sunset view of the Superstition Mountains.

📍 Before you go Located on public land within the Tonto National Forest, the ruins are accessible via a rugged public hiking trail, though visitors must respect the fragile archaeological site and avoid climbing on the walls.
