The Green Light

Tucked behind a secret bookcase door inside the newly relocated Merchant NC (occupying the former Architect Bar space), this tiny, low-lit 1920s-style parlor is one of Raleigh's most legendary secret rooms. A glowing green beacon above the street-level entrance signals if there is room for walk-ins to experience their bespoke, off-menu mixology.

The move: Look up from Hargett Street to see if the green light is glowing, then head upstairs through The Merchant NC to find the hidden bookshelf door and challenge the bartender to craft a custom cocktail based on your favorite flavor profile.

Where: 108 1/2 E Hargett St, Raleigh, NC 27601
